A Few Things To Note
You should plan on your entire group being at our facilities no later than your booking time. Arriving 10-15 minutes early ensures that we get you into your escape room on time. Overly late groups will not be permitted in the escape room for the entire hour.

Before You Book An Escape Room
-
Escape room adventure games are a new brand of entertainment sweeping the world. The concept behind an escape room is that you and several of your friends or family are locked in a room with a specific scenario and you have one hour (or more! We’ll see how our new rooms develop) to get out! Through teamwork, problem-solving, and story progression you live through a cinematic event, instead of watching one on a screen. These games are not designed to scare our players. We want you to be able to think through our puzzles and really experience the adventure in each room. Even though these rooms aren’t scary experiences you will still absolutely feel a rush of adrenaline as the minutes tick away.

You can find us in Downtown Manhattan, Kansas at 116 South 4th Street #122A. We are one block south of Poyntz Avenue on 4th Street or right across the street from 4 Olives restaurant. Our building has a blue awning and you will see our window display and glass front door with the Locked Manhattan logo. Check out our contact page to see a map.

There is no minimum age to play Locked Manhattan Escape Games! All players that can walk around the escape room need to have a ticket, babies that can be carried the entire time do not need a ticket. All players under the age of 18 will have to have his or her parent or guardian sign our waiver on their behalf prior to playing one of our adventures. We reserve the right to deny underage players without a legally signed waiver. You can find the waiver to print HERE. For more information on Locked Manhattan for families contact us by email.
-
We make every attempt to ensure all of our players receive the same experience. This could result in us changing a room slightly to better fit certain needs. Please contact us prior to or immediately after booking your adventure for more information.

Glad you asked! The cost of 1-3 players is $69 per game. After three players in a group it is $23 per additional person (about the price of a movie and popcorn). Sales tax and fees are added on upon checkout so the total price may be a bit more! The cost breakdowns are as follows:
1-3 players: $69, so 1 player is $69, 2 players are $34.50 each, and 3 players are $23 each
4 players: $92, $23 each
5 players: $115, $23 each
6 players: $138, $23 each and so on and so forth with $23.00 per additional person. -
Our adventures are generally designed for around six people to play. We recommend players be in groups of four to eight but we won’t turn you away if you have less. Though we can’t ensure you receive the same experience, if you are unable to get a group together we welcome groups of two or three as well as singles. Some of our rooms are so difficult that we have to place a minimum of three or four players to play. If you book a room and don’t see an option for 2 or 3 players, that room may be too difficult for those group sizes. For more players than the maximum recommended (The Witching Hour and The Dinner Party – eight people, The Dalton Plan and Outpost 10 – 10 people) in a single escape room please contact Locked Manhattan for options.
-
No way. We totally understand the environment escape rooms create and also understand that your experience may be more exciting with a group of people you are comfortable with. Our goal is to ensure that players have the best experience possible, therefore, we charge per group, and don’t require you to play with strangers.
-
We have designed our The Witching Hour game for four to six people, while The Dalton Plan is a larger room designed for six to eight people. That being said, we do allow a max number of eight players (group members) in The Witching Hour and a max of 10 players in The Dalton Plan in the room.
After You Book an Escape Room
-
Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment time so we can go over any questions you may have and get you ready for your game. You then have one hour to complete the tasks at hand and escape our room. Afterward, we’d love to chat with you about your experience and maybe go over any puzzles you weren’t able to figure out. We would also like to post your victory or defeat photo to our social media accounts, so if you are willing, practice that smile. Plan on spending one hour and 30 minutes total at Locked Manhattan.
-
We make every attempt to accommodate late arrivals, however, groups who arrive more than 10 minutes late will forfeit their entire hour experience and play with their remaining minutes. Late arrivals will not receive a refund since we will have already blocked off the room for your group and no one else. We will be happy to work with you to reschedule the full experience at a later time, just let us know. This “make-up” adventure can be purchased at a discounted rate. If you change the time of your adventure more than 24-hours in advance there is no additional cost or penalty.
-
Not a problem! Make sure you are not exceeding the limit for the room, and tell the employee running your room that you have additional players. If you are adding people over the limit for your room, contact us and we’ll talk through possible ways to accommodate your new group size.
During Your Escape Room Adventure
-
No, we don’t allow phones or any personal belongings for that matter in the rooms. This is to avoid any photos being taken of our rooms or outside information misleading our players. We have lockers for you to use in our lobby in order to safely lock up the items that you bring to Locked Manhattan. You will have possession of this locker’s key while in our establishment.
-
No. Our rooms are not designed to scare our players. Even though these rooms aren’t scary you will still absolutely feel a rush of adrenaline as the minutes tick away. Immerse yourself in our adventures and live an hour our story with no need to worry about things jumping out at you.
-
For safety reasons, we ask that our players leave all weapons locked and secured at their home. We have lockers available for patrons to use, however, due to the nature of some of our adventures we don’t want any confusion or potential dangers for us or our players. Locked Manhattan follows Kansas law regarding concealed and open carry of firearms.
-
Don’t worry, we let you out of the room after your allotted hour! You won’t be stuck with us forever. We also give hints if needed, though, we aren’t looking to make this too easy for our players.
-
We are monitoring our games, rooms, and lobby continually. Additionally, you will be able to contact a staff member during the game who will be able to contact emergency services if appropriate, as well as let you out the room. If there is an emergency and for some reason our staff is not responding, there will be an emergency Exit button (panic button) located right next to the door that you have access to. Using this button for a personal emergency does not affect the game. Safety is a priority and although this experience is a thrilling game we want our players to feel safe at all times.

Escape room adventures are meant to be fun, however, if it appears that our players are having too much “fun” we may ask them to leave. Our staff asks that players respect the experiences of those who come after them, so we can’t allow damage to our rooms.
-
We love to see our players talking about their experiences with us, however, we don’t want the rooms to be too easy for new players. Locked Manhattan asks that players not reveal our secrets, puzzles, or clues to make sure future players receive the same exciting experience as was intended. So, let’s keep this between us.
